I quiet often feel that the issue of environment is taken quiet lightly mainly because of lack of awareness and carelessness. At basic levels we are taught to save our environment, keep your city clean ang green. But do we actually contribute to the conservation of our environment. The title of my write up suggests that amidst policy makers, world leaders and negotiators are doing their job to deal with the problem of environmental or climatic change or pollution and reducing its impact on mankind I feel we as a world community are equally responsible for actions that can make the environment sustainable. On ground reality we have strict laws, NGOs campaigns etc to generate awareness regarding environmental degradation and taking initiatives like slum cleaning , cleaning drains , tree plantation campaigns, academic awareness campaigns, laws prohibiting hunting of animals , river cleaning projects and many multilateral projects. Apart from being a part of such drives we should make sure the environment around us or in which we live is clean as well for example do not waste water, switch to cycles or polling systems rather than wasting petrol, pollution check of your vehicles, extensive lead can be taken to plant trees , using dustbins, stop littering at public places, showing sincerity towards your agenda. It is not possible for one person to clean the entire river. No but being a citizen we can generate awareness and involve many people in this drive to clean your environment educating people about the implications pollution and our future directly related to it. Be shall be the change we want to see in others.
